According to the Russian consumers and suppliers of special steel alloy Association (Spetsstal), the consumption of stainless steel long product in Russia grew to 26,730 tons in the first half of 2010, up by 69.1 percent from a year ago.
Meanwhile, the output of stainless steel long product increased by 68.2 percent compared to the same period of last year, with a drop by 0.5 percent on export and an increase by 59.9 percent on import.
It is expected the overall consumption in 2010 is still lower than the performance in 2008 by 30 percent. In the first half of 2008, the consumption of stainless steel long product in Russia hit to 38,140 tons.
