Japan imported 643,000 tons of steel products in July, sliding by 8.5 percent compared to last month but increasing by 75.6 percent year-on-year.
Among them, common steel was 335,000 tons and special steel 29,800 tons.
Of common steel imports, hot rolled coil was 109,000 tons; cold rolled coil was 83,000 tons; wire product was 33,000 tons; thick plate 19,000 tons and EGI sheet 30,000 tons.
