Reportedly, Tata Steel has aimed to expand its production of steel for wind turbine.
However, it’s said that the new carbon taxes announced in the UK would weaken its competitiveness.
Mr. George Osborne announced a new price for carbon emission from power station to be implemented in 2013 and the cost has increased to £30/ton by 2020.
The spokesman of Tata Steel said that the company expected to capitalize on supplying steel for global wind turbine markets since the UK is likely to increase in offshore wind farms in the coming years.
