Reportedly, Taiwan’s Yieh Hsing announced to hike the wire rod prices by NT$1,000/ton for domestic market for April delivery on March 31st.
Yieh Hsing said that the company decided to raise the wire rod prices for April delivery as it has received a large amounts of inquiries from Southeast Asia after Japan’s massive earthquake.
In fact, the company has increased the prices for consecutive four months since this year as the raw material prices have remained strong in global market. The total price rise has reached NT$2,500~NT$3,000/ton.
Meanwhile, industry sources indicated that the company’s price hike tallied with the market participants’ forecast. Furthermore, it has been seen that the wire rod prices stay firm in Taiwan’s market.
